Tennis superstar and Porsche Global Ambassador, Maria Sharapova will be hitting the courts in Stuttgart to defend her two-year running title of champion at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, a ‘women-only’ tennis event.

“Play! Girls”: The motto of the 37th Porsche Tennis Grand Prix has enticed the world’s best female tennis stars to Stuttgart. Eight top ten players will be competing in the Porsche Arena from April 19-27 for prize money totaling 710,000 US dollars and the very attractive Porsche 911 Targa 4S for the winner.

Our favourite champion, Maria Sharapova, won the tournament in 2012 and 2013 and we have no doubt this woman with drive would love to add another Porsche to her collection. Her opponent in last year’s final was Chinese Li Na, who will come to the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix as the current world No. 2 and the newly crowned Australian Open champion. Let’s hope Maria has her game-face ready!

Other contenders in the mix are Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland), Simona Halep (Romania), Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic), Sara Errani (Italy), 2008 winner Jelena Jankovic (Serbia), and Angelique Kerber (Germany).

For those visitors who are looking for some action outside the main arena, there is plenty on offer for the whole family. The Sport and Lifestyle Village is where fans can get up close and personal with their favourite stars, and watch the champions practicing and collect autographs. There is also a Porsche Mini Tennis Grand Prix for children will be played during the finals weekend, for any young budding champion.

We’re looking forward to this exciting women-only event, and if we had to pick a winner, we can’t go past our very-own woman with drive, Maria Sharapova. C’mon Maria!
